Global insurer
A 20-year-old internal platform, redesigned and tested in ten weeks
- Outcome
- In testing, key tasks beat the 30% time-saving goal; the code prototype became the shipped front end
Background
The platform handles experimentation and segmentation across the insurer. Engineering built it, and it carries dense business and technical requirements.
- Client
- One of the world’s top-ranked insurance brands
- Role
- Design Director
- Agency
- TELUS Digital, formerly WillowTree
- Timeline
- 10 weeks: 6 research, 4 design
Summary
I led design on a 20-year-old internal platform that every team at the insurer relies on and that had never had a design practice. In ten weeks — six of research, four of design — we delivered a tested, build-ready direction: one information architecture and seven core workflows for four specialist roles.
I built the prototype in React with AI tools, alongside the client’s engineers and TELUS Digital’s, and it became the front end the platform shipped on. In six moderated tests over eight days, the new workflows beat the 30% time-saving goal by a wide margin.
